Seattle Opera Presents Rootabaga Country

Carl Sandburg’s famous Zigzag Railroad has added a new stop: Seattle Opera! Rootabaga Country returns to the stage for the first time in a long time with this company! I’m still more than a little happily shocked. Originally written for Sarasota Opera’s incredibly rigorous training program (and two adult professionals), the opera will next be performed by Seattle Opera’s Youth Opera Project on March 8th, 10th, 15th, 17th, and 17th in the gorgeous Tagney Jones Hall. There will be six performances in all, and I will surely share further details ASAP. Meanwhile, the cast begins rehearsing in the fall. If you are based in the Seattle area and know a talented/curious youngster who might want to join the company, full information is here. I am so honored to begin a relationship with this company, share this opera with new singers and audiences, and experience Seattle for the first time! All aboard, and see you in the spring!
